Written:
I woke up early this morning,
To watch the old year running out,
Reflecting on this life and stuff,
And what it's all about.
I said a prayer this morning,
So thankful for everything,
It was quiet and others were sleeping,
And I looked at my wedding ring.
It brought me back to years ago,
To Nancy my beloved bride,
To marriage filled with happiness,
The warmth I felt inside.
I woke up early this morning,
To greet the New Year in,
A chance there in the silence,
To review where I had been.
Married for twenty years now,
To my wonderful, lovely wife,
Whose love continues to bless me,
Our children fill my life. |
